Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family children who would grow up with them eventually. She learned early on how to conquer of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Before she could write or read she wrote herself songs. After getting her first guitar at the age of 8, she began to play on local radio stations from Knoxville in Tennessee. That same year, she released her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. Even though she was still in school, she had already made a name of herself in the local music scene. However, her goal was to be able to make music on a bigger level. When she was graduating in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time, was in search for a girl to sing on his show. Parton was hired in 1966, was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. The show ended in 1974, as her own albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton, after the split of their collaboration with Wagoner, wrote"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and made it to Number. Its first appearance at number 1 was in 1974.
