Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actor in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. She was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, which makes her the second youngest winner in Oscar history. As a result of an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish piano player. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician, who emigrated to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. When she was a teenager her family relocated to the United States. Paquin made her debut in the midst of her childhood with a role of the Jane Eyre protagonist in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre as well as an important role of Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film version of Carson McCullers' novels The Member of the Wedding (1997). Paquin was a part of the supporting cast in The Queen of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as in the role of Polexia Aphrodisa groupie as part of Almost Famous (2000).
